The winless Cedar Redmen made the journey to Tiger Stadium Friday to take on undefeated Hurricane, as the home team continues to break in the new turf.
The Redmen dominated the first half with the Tigers staying silent while only allowing one touchdown. After the break the Tigers came out with a roar, holding Cedar at seven points while Brian Scott scooted into the endzone and a two-point conversion gave Hurricane the lead going into the fourth. Two runs from Brian Scott–including a 63-yarder– helped Hurricane in the 21-point fourth quarter scoring frenzy. The Tigers overcame a scoreless first half to walk away with the 29-20 win.
Brian Scott rushed 20 times for 245 yards and tucked away three touchdowns. John Ursa went 9 for 18 and had 140 yards. The Tiger defense was helped by Jared Edwards, who put away 22 tackles, while Kevin Mortensen logged 14.
