From food truck to brand new store, Noodles & Dumplings Co. has been cooking up authentic, fresh and unique Chinese dishes since 2022.
“We were thinking, maybe we can make food and bring our authentic Chinese food to St. George, and then we started a food truck,” said Dawa, one of the restaurant co-owners, from Tibet, China.
After a few years of working out of a food truck and seeing success in the community, the family was able to move from a food truck into a permanent location located off Dixie Drive in the Dixie Commons Plaza.
Dawa expressed relief at finally being able to get out of the food truck, saying: “The biggest problem is storage, so there was a minimal amount of customers you could serve every day… The other problem is it was too hot and we live in St. George. Those are the two main problems with a food truck.”
Moving into the new location was relatively simple, but they did face some issues when it came to the design.
“We had to submit a blueprint of the design to the city. They needed to be approved and then they’d say it’s no good and we’d have to redesign,” Dawa said. “But I understand St. George has their own rules, we just follow them.”
Dawa said that the goal is to eventually open more locations, but there’s difficulties that play a role in achieving that goal.
“If we want more stores we have to hire more people and make sure they follow our flavor,” Dawa said. “If you cook fresh and good quality food, you will always win. Quality and flavor is our most important thing.”
The restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic, homemade, Asian dishes. Those dishes include, but are not limited to:
- Handmade dumplings and noodles
- Buns
- Rice bowls
- Milk tea

Customers expressed appreciation for the quality of food at Noodles & Dumplings Co.
“Other restaurants make their sauces too thick or too sweet, but this is nice and light,” said Cayden Acord from Richfield. “The way they make the rice pairs so well, it’s nice and fluffy.”
One customer mentioned the restaurant being one that he regularly visited when it was a food truck. “The quality, authenticity and love that they put into their food is pretty top tier,” said Ethan Torok, St. George local. “I’ve been waiting for them to open this [location] for so so long.”
Torok mentioned the hospitality of the owners. “Sometimes the entrees might take a little bit longer, but it’s a lot of food and it’s delicious,” Torok said. “She also brought us some extra fried rice, free of charge.”
Being a regular since the restaurant’s opening, Torok has seen the family’s commitment to the community.
“I’m super happy for this family because I’ve seen the mom in there by herself for a long time and her son would come and try to help as much as he could… I’m just very happy they have this, because they very much deserve this,” Torok said.
Torok emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses. “People just need to get here and eat the food,” he said. “It’s so good, they’re a local business, they live here in St. George, they’re a good family and they work hard.”
