NBA Sues Locked Out Players

As the NBA lockout continues, the league filed two legal claims against the players association. Reports show former BYU standout Jimmer Fredette is among the players who were sued by the National Basketball Association on Tuesday.

According to Sactown Royalty, a community fan page of the Sacramento Kings, Jimmer is included in the list of players being sued by the league because Fredette is a native of New York. Fellow 2011 NBA draft pick Charles Jenkins was also included in the list of defendants.

The NBA filed a federal lawsuit in New York and an unfair labor practice against the NBA Players Association. The league accused the players of being uncooperative in the negotiations toward a new agreement by making threats of dissolving the union and suing the NBA under anti-trust laws, the same strategy used by the NFL players during this year’s lockout.
