A Tournament for Ammon

Share This:

When local teen Ammon Puriri got in the waters of Lake Powell on July 26, he wasn’t expecting to leave them in a Life Flight Helicopter.

Ammon was enjoying a day with close friends when he was run over by a boat, badly damaging his lower right leg and foot. When he arrived to Flagstaff Medical Center in Arizona, “He had lost about two-and-one-half quarts of blood. Thanks to the amazing surgeons, they were able to save his leg versus amputating it.” Ammon’s sister Karamea posted on the family blog.

After the horrific accident occurred, local residents and friends of Ammon came together to help raise money for his expensive surgeries.

The efforts and planning of Ammon’s friends resulted in a volleyball tournament, bringing dozens of locals who all came to support him in what they hope is a “speedy recovery.”

These supporters had a few things to say about their friend and how they hope this can make a difference. Watch the video to hear those comments.
