CEDAR CITY, UT — John R.Fox, 95, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2011 at home.

John was born on May 22, 1916 in San Bernardino,CA. He served as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1945 flying B29’s out of Tinian Island in the South Pacific. He married the love of his life on August 5, 1939.

He worked for the A T&SF Railroad for 44 years, starting in Los Angeles in 1937 as a doc clerk; working in Chicago, Houston and Amarillo as a quality control superintendent and railroad security, before returning to Los Angeles and retiring in 1981.

John was an avid fisherman and outdoors man and was a devoted family man. He will surely be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years (Patricia Fox), his two children (John E. Fox [Rene] and Barbara Gray [Barry]), 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A grave-side service will be held on Friday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar City Cemetery.
