For all those tech junkies out there, you may have received a break when it comes to this year’s elusive iPhone release date. According to “high-level sources” from AT&T, store managers were told to prepare employees for a “really, really busy” iPhone 5 launch. Reports from tech website BGR, point to a specific mention for an early October release saying:
“One of our high-level AT&T sources just informed us that an AT&T Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 is slated to launch in early October. Additionally, the VP communicated the following to a group of managers: ‘Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly’.”
Other internet tech giants such as TiPb, Jim Dalrymple and the Loop are hopping on the early October band-wagon as well, even solidifying October 7 as the possible date and predicting pre-orders to start September 30.
Additionally, October’s first week release date sits well with a report by 9to5mac.com, which AT&T will be reportedly adding data throttling and a new insurance plans for $199 devices.
What will the new phone look like? Multiple leaks point to a thinner, more sleak figure. Apple’s dual-core A5 processor, an eight megapixel camera and iOS5. But only time will tell. Junkies, set your clocks!
