Following Governor Herbert’s visit to the area Tuesday, Congressman Jim Matheson visited Dixie State College Wednesday and addressed the college’s rapid growth and its effect on St. George’s economy as a whole.

Matheson toured DSC’s Computer Crime Institute, which is just one example of educational expansion in southern Utah. This new program facilitates technology students, staff and local law enforcement can use for forensic science.

After conversing with faculty and students, Matheson went to see the up and coming Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons Building that will be ready this spring. Based on the growth pattern and government attention, DSC is continuing to open doors for the St. George’s economy.
