A new and creative spiritual experience will be visiting Dixie for a special performance this weekend. The musical/narrative experience produced by LDS music composer Janice Kapp Perry and Bonnie Hart Murray previewing in the St. George Tabernacle Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23, appropriately called “The Book of Mormon Has Come Forth.”

The hour-long experience will produce a wide range of music, excerpts from the Book of Mormon and testimonies from members of the Latter-day Saint faith who were touched by the Book of Mormon.

“It’s not just for those of the LDS faith,” Show organizer Kathleen Briggs told SUN News. “This is a musical fireside built around the meaning the Book of Mormon has.”

Briggs was graced with opportunity to premiere this show here in southern Utah after talking with Perry and asking her to perform it in Dixie. “She agreed and we called to book the tabernacle,” Briggs said, “the only available time for the building was the end of October, which ended up being the first time the show would perform.”

As Briggs was describing the musical, emotion overcame her as she talked about book itself. “When a missionary knocks on your door and hands you a Book of Mormon, there is power in that,” Briggs said.

The musical fireside will take place at 7:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
