Dixie State University police arrested a student for possession of synthetic marijuana Wednesday night.
A DSU student was arrested and charged with not having a driver’s license, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possession of spice — a synthetic strain of marijuana. DSU Security Officer Eldon Gibb made the arrest at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nisson Towers dorms.
Madi Whitney, a freshman communication major from West Jordan, said the police were at the Nisson Towers for over three hours Wednesday night.
“At first it was just a cop on a bike, but then a police car came up and sped off as if to chase down someone,” Whitney said. “It seemed like they were investigating a car accident.”
The student was placed in custody with a $680 bond.
