The Dixie State University women’s soccer team cruised past University of Hawaii at Hilo 2-0 for its fifth straight win.

DSU scored in the 42nd minute when senior midfielder Alexis Torres was able to score off of a crossed pass from freshman forward Capri Goldsmith.

We played calm and we did a good job of stopping their shots,” head coach Kacey Bingham said. “We were patient and really shut down their offense.”

The Trailblazers added to their lead in the 79th minute when junior defender Montana Hadley connected on a penalty kick.

The defense continued its strong play, and DSU came away with a 2-0 shut out victory. DSU plays at Chaminade University Saturday.
