Ella Barlow, a sophomore biology major from Eagle Mountain, covered her mouth the moment she realized she won this year’s Miss Dixie at Dixie State University.
As the speaker took the stage preparing to announce the winners, all of the contestants held hands in unison.
After judging all five parts of the pageant, Kasidee Graf, a dental hygiene major from St. George, was named fourth attendant. Followed by her walk to the front of stage, McKenna Hodge, a sophomore theatre major from Hurricane, earned third attendant, and Bergen Nelson, a junior exercise science major from St. George, placed second attendant.
Silence filled the auditorium before first attendant, Kodi McKinlay, a freshman biology major from Aurora, claimed her crown.
As the new Miss Dixie, Barlow will be seen at all of the different Homecoming Week events.
