The Robloxians Club at Utah Tech University continues to grow by creating a fun environment and welcoming new players.

The club is focused on the game Roblox, which is where the name Robloxians comes from. Roblox is an online gaming platform that has millions of user-made games, which vary in themes and lobby sizes.

The Robloxians club meets every Friday at 6 p.m. in the Science, Engineering, and Technology building in room 105. At the meetings, they change the game they play, which can vary from Bloxy Bingo to Natural Disaster Survival and many more games. There is also sometimes a free play night where club members can play any game of their choice.

Michael Olsingch, a sophomore pre-engineering major from Wildomar, California, is the president and founder of the Robloxians Club.

Olsingch first got involved with clubs when he got on campus and thought about what it would be like to run a club since he’s always had an interest in them. Olsingch started thinking about what type of club he would run, and he landed on creating one about Roblox.

After that, Olsingch submitted a request and set up a meeting with the club council, where he had to pitch his idea for a new club. Then, the Robloxians Club was approved to become a new club on campus.

“I think I just hope to give a space where people can just come and have fun,” Olsingch said. “I feel like being an adult, and in college, everyone feels like they have to be so serious all the time.”

The process of picking the weekly game they play involves determining how many people can play the game at once, so the club can all play together and have fun.

Despite being a new club in its second semester, the Robloxians Club has had success on campus, and a few of its videos have become popular on social media.

Abbie Justesen, a freshman theater major from St. George, joined the Robloxians club this semester.

Justesen wanted to join a club this semester, and she already really liked Roblox, so she found the Robloxians Club at Club Rush.

“I’ve been to one meeting so far,” Justesen said. “It’s pretty straightforward. They pick a game, he [Olsingch] has a private server, and so we all get together.”

Since joining, Justesen has made a lot of friends, and she hopes to continue to do so as she goes to more meetings.

Emmett Demlow is a sophomore digital media studies major from Twin Falls, Idaho. Demlow isn’t a member of the Robloxians Club, but plays the game.

“I think it’s a great idea,” Demlow said. “The game is already a fun way to connect with others, so having a club on campus for people to share that connection is really cool.”

To join the Robloxians Club, all you have to do is show up to the meetings and start playing. To access more information about them, you can follow them on their Instagram account ut.robloxians.
