Utah Tech University set several school records on the track and in the pool, along with a walk-off victory on the baseball diamond.
Men’s golf
UT teed off at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, California, and came away with an eighth-place finish out of 23 teams.
Junior Ashton McArthur led the way as he finished tied for 11th, his third top 15 finish this season. McArthur had nine birdies in the tournament en route to a minus-6 210.
UT will return at the Bandon Dunes Championships March 8-10.
Softball
Hosting the Beehive Classic, the Trailblazers went 2-2. After losses to Weber State University and the University of Utah, Utah Tech rebounded with a 5-4 win over Weber and a 4-0 win over Utah State University.
In the win over USU, UT earned its first shutout of the season and first in exactly a year. Senior Sauren Garton pitched her first complete game of the season and held the Aggies to just three hits with three strikeouts.
UT will return to action in the UNLV Red and Black Classic March 6-8.
Baseball
The Trailblazers swept their four-game series against the University of Northern Colorado. UT won 11-8, 6-5, 11-5 and 6-4.
In the final game, UT trailed 2-4 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. After a pair of walks and a base hit, the bases were loaded for senior Gavin Glasgow. Glasgow then won the game for the Trailblazers with one swing of the bat as he sent a fastball over the fence for a walk-off grand slam.
After the win, UT improves to 11-1 on the season ahead of a four-game series at home against Austin Peay State University March 5-8.
Women’s basketball
UT went 1-1 the past week after a 66-76 loss to Abilene Christian University and a 83-66 win over Southern Utah University.
In the win over SUU, UT held its Senior Day while five Trailblazers scored in double-figures. Sophomore Paige Cofer led the team with a season-high 19 points. Senior Kaylee Borden also added 18 points and extended her streak to 14 games with at least one made 3-pointer.
The win brings UT to 9-18. Utah Tech will finish its regular season at Utah Valley University March 7.
Men’s basketball
Men’s basketball also went 1-1 the past week, with an 85-81 win over ACU and a 67-81 loss at SUU.
In the win over ACU, UT had four players score in double-figures as senior Ethan Potter led the way with 25 points on 11-14 shooting and eight rebounds. Chance Trujillo also had 24 points in the win.
“Offensively, I thought we were cooking,” head coach Jon Judkins said. “We were moving it and sharing it. Chance had a big night, Ethan had a big night.”
After the week, UT is 18-13 and 11-6 in the WAC conference. They currently sit as the third seed in the conference.
UT will finish its regular season at home against UVU March 7.
Tennis
The Trailblazers went 2-0 the past week, with a 7-0 win over Colorado Mesa University and a 6-1 win against Colorado College.
Freshman Cameron Hendrix went 2-0 throughout the week. The wins improved her singles record to a team-best 7-3 this season.
“It was a great weekend,” head coach Eric Pelton said. “They worked on things and really played well. Proud of their hard work and efforts to keep improving and getting better every day.”
UT will return to the court March 5 against New Mexico State University at home.
Swimming
UT wrapped up their season with a seventh-place finish at the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.
Junior Cera Mallory had a season-best time in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:01.58 en route to a sixth-place finish and the fourth fastest time in program history.
Women’s track and field
UT took sixth place at the WAC Championships and set several school records in the process.
Junior Makayla Pitcher set a school record in the mile with a 4:55.02 while finishing sixth. Junior Averie Perriton also set a school record in the 3000-meter race with a time of 9:49.67.
UT will open its 2026 season March 21 as they host the Utah Tech Invitational at Greater Zion Stadium.
