State leaders released on Wednesday a new weapon to fight crime: a cell phone.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff announced a new initiative allowing residents around Utah to anonymously give authorities tips via text or cell phone applications. This new tool is a quicker way to respond to a crime. It will help law enforcement agencies to do a better job, and it will also give residents the safety of keeping it anonymous.
Officials recommend that residents have their local police agency saved in their phone contacts.
