ST GEORGE: The Dixie State College Athletics announced during a press conference Tuesday, a partnership between athletics and Cherry Creek Radio of St. George. This partnership brings football and men’s basketball back to Cherry Creek on Sports Radio 1210 AM.

We are very excited to get Dixie State sports back on Cherry Creek Radio where we will be able to carry our broadcasts to a wider audience,” said DSC Athletic Director Jason Boothe. “Being on Sports Radio 1210 ESPN and The Fox will allow the community to embrace the Red Storm and have the passion for our games the way they do for college and pro sports teams throughout the state.”

The agreement includes a weekly DSC Athletics Coaches Show, as well as live Internet coverage on www.sportsradio1210.com and www.DixieAthletics.com of all the broadcasts. “This is a monumental step in building that connection and restoring the passion as Red Storm sports will be getting a lot more exposure in the community through the games and the weekly Coaches Shows,” Boothe said.

The “Voice of the Red Storm” John Potter joins the Sports Radio 1210 ESPN team as the lead play-by-play broadcaster. Devin Dixon, host of “The Drive on Sports Radio 1210 ESPN,” will join Potter on-air for in-game color commentary. The first game broadcast will be Saturday, Sept. 4 when the Dixie State football team hosts Adams State, with kickoff set for 6:05 p.m.

Tom Glade, General Manager for Cherry Creek Radio, worked closely with DSC in reaching the agreement. “We are thrilled to partner with Dixie State Athletics,” he said. “We think this is a great partnership that will last for many years.”

KXDS-91.3 and live feeds via DixieAthletics.com will continue to carry DSC women’s basketball, baseball, softball and select postseason events.
