Cedar City officials collected hundreds of child pornographic pictures Monday upon the search of a registered sex offender’s house.
25-year-old Daniel Riquelme was arrested at after his probation officer called in Cedar City Police when he discovered the pictures. Police seized the pictures and Riquelme was booked into Iron County Jail without incident.
Riquelme was charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, but Sergeant J.R. Robinson told SUN News the count amount could possibly expand. “[Riquelme] could be charged for every picture we seized,” Robinson said, “But the task of going through each picture and identifying the person’s age is difficult on any person doing it.”
This is the second time Riquelme has been booked for unlawful activity involving minors. His bond is set at over $100,000.
