ST. GEORGE, UT — Dixie State College and high school fans can now watch live local football action from anywhere via the Dixie Broadcast Network.
Local games are broadcast live on television via the Baja Broadband Community Education Channel, 22. Online live streaming can be found at SouthernUtahNow.com and Voddov.com. Fans can access an athletic archive on demand at Voddov.com, too. Students, faculty, and staff can watch live games on 29 different flat screen TVs strategically located across the DSC campus.
This is the first time DSC has made live local high school coverage available. Comprehensive Southern Utah live sports coverage is made possible by a new partnership on campus.
“The relationship that has been built between the Community Education Channel and the Department of Communication will allow, not only a better experience for the students, but also a better product in the end,” David Harris, instructor of communication said. Harris is the college’s executive producer for broadcast sports.
Harris said in addition to easier access to local athletic events, fans will also witness significantly higher production value.
College football games will feature sportscaster John Oglesby. High School Football games will be training opportunities for communication students honing their broadcasting skills.
