Curved is the New Black

Recent Web rumors and research have led many to believe that the near future of our electronics is moving from flat screen to curved screen. Daily news website DIGITIMES claims that sources close to corporate giants such as Apple and Samsung are prepping to produce devices that include curved glass, more specifically touchscreens, in early 2012.

According to DIGITIMES, “Apple reportedly also has bought glass polishing equipment for its suppliers in preparation for the production of devices fitted with curved cover glass. Lens Technology, Fuji Crystal, G-Tech are said to be major cover glass suppliers of Apple. While Lens and Fuji focus on iPhones, G-Tech supplies mainly for iPad.”

Also in the report, they noted that other companies were expected to use curved glass in “attempts to gain a competitive edge.” The new designs would allow for a much larger screen view radius and create a more in-depth experience in movies, picture viewing or video games.

If curved screens come out early 2012, would you buy one?
