Apple’s launch of the iPhone 4S last week led to record breaking totals of first-day pre-orders.
Orders for the newest member of the iPhone family opened up last Friday, in anticipation of its arrival this Friday.
The iPhone 4S is the first iPhone to be released on multiple networks at the same time. With Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint all making the phone available to customers, the preorder numbers topped the one million mark, just on opening day.
When Apple released the iPhone 4 last year, AT&T was the only company selling the product, with a total of 600,000 first-day orders.
The iPhone 4S offers a faster processor and improved camera capabilities in comparison to the iPhone 4.
