The men’s soccer team beat Chaminade University 2-1 for the third straight win since the start of the season.

Freshman forward Ryan Benavente scored his first college goal against the Silverswords to give DSC the lead 1-0.

Half a minute later, Silverswords sophomore midfielder Dayton Sato came back and tied the game 1-1.

The next half was slow as neither team could find the goal. With 19 seconds left in the game, junior midfielder Francisco Garay gave a pass to Benavente, who came back again to score another goal for DSC. Dixie took control of the game and won 2-1.

Dixie had 11 shots to the CUH’s eight for the game. The Red Storm now have a 4-6-1 rank overall and a 3-3-1 in the PacWest. This was junior goal keeper Tyler Walters’ fourth win after a three game shut-out.

The Red Storm play BYU-Hawaii on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Hansen Stadium.
