If you are a senior in college about to graduate, there is no need to freak out about what you’re going to do after you graduate or how to nail an interview because the Career Center has got you covered.
DSU Career Services offers its help to students when it comes to looking for a job or internship, finding a career after graduation, or building a strong resume and cover letter.
As students go through their college career, it makes sense for them to worry about if and how they will find a successful career after graduation.
“Career Services is one of the most useful resources on campus and probably one of the most unknown and underused by students,” Career Coach Gina Gottfredson said. “Our mission is to help students move from college students to career professionals. We have qualified career coaches who focus on helping students in each of the colleges at DSU.”
Students at DSU have an advantage when it comes to career help because these services and coaches are so readily available.
“My advice would be to just come in,” said Rebecca Rebman, a freshman nursing major from Moapa Valley, Nevada. “Everyone in the career center is willing and ready to help. There is no such thing as a dumb question and they are there for you.”
This semester, the career center is introducing the “Career Passport Program” which will help students understand the importance of their career journey, Career Coach Rochelle Blatter said.
Blatter said as part of this program, career services will provide opportunities for students to win prizes by participating in various activities throughout the semester.
“Our goal is to provide excellent service and resources to help students make the transition from student to career professional,” Blatter said.
Career Services is located on the fifth floor of the Holland Centennial Commons and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students can learn more about the services offered or more about the “Career Passport Program” by visiting career.dixie.edu.
