From live entertainment to an egg hunt, Utah Tech University’s annual Spring Fest on April 2 was full of family-fun events.

Spring Fest is an annual community event that invites the community to enjoy a night filled with games, activities, egg hunts, live music and food trucks. John Bowler, director of alumni relations, said the event is designed to create a welcoming event for attendees of all ages.

There was no fee to attend the event, which was held near the fountain on campus. Spring Fest is hosted by the University Marketing and Communication in partnership with the Utah Tech Alumni Association

“It’s a collaborative effort that brings the campus and community together,” Bowler said.

The two-hour event began with activities at 5:30 p.m., including games, food trucks and booths. An Easter egg hunt started at 6 p.m., followed by additional activities and local live entertainment, which continued until 7:30 p.m.

“There is something for everyone, whether you are participating in activities or just enjoying the environment. All ages are welcome,” Bowler said.

“From young kids to college students to families, there’s something for the entire community to enjoy,” said Brenna McCue, events and promotions coordinator.

Each booth featured a different activity, giving guests a wide range of experiences. Booths included:

“Spring Fest is one of our most well-attended community events each year, drawing thousands of attendees,” McCue said. “It’s something the community looks forward to, and we love being able to host such a lively and meaningful gathering.”

The Alumni Association hosted the children’s egg hunt, which was free to participate in. Kids were grouped by age to provide a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. More than 20,000 eggs were available, giving each child the opportunity to take some home.

“Imagine a sea of children gathering eggs in just a few minutes,” Bowler said. “It’s a fun and energetic experience.”

The Easter Bunny also made an appearance during the event, providing an additional highlight for families and children in attendance.

“The Easter Bunny is always a big hit and a highlight of the event,” Bowler said.

In previous years, the Alumni Association has hosted an egg hunt specifically for college students, but that portion of the event did not take place this year.

“While the event is designed to be family-friendly, college students are a big part of the experience,” McCue said. “Whether through participating booths, volunteering or simply coming to enjoy the atmosphere with friends.”

Bowler said the organizers continue to build on what makes Spring Fest successful, including a strong emphasis on activities, community involvement and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

The university hosts the event to reflect its commitment to connection, engagement and creating meaningful experiences for both students and the community, Bowler said.

“It’s a fun, easy-to-attend event with a great atmosphere,” Bowler said.
