St. George-based airline company Skywest announced Thursday that 170 positions would be cut from its Salt Lake City employments.
Those affected will be crews based in ground handling at Salt Lake’s International Airport. The layoffs come from the reductions of daily flights linked with Delta Connection. Though the airline has reduced numbers in Salt Lake City, St. George’s paying passenger rate has increased 15% since the opening of the new airport.
