After a double overtime marathon, the Dixie State University Red Storm secured an 81-80 victory over the Concordia University of Irvine Eagles Saturday.

It was a back and forth game during the first half of the contest, but DSU took a 32-31 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The see-saw battle continued in the second half until the Red Storm took a seven-point lead with just over five minutes to play in regulation.

The Eagles battled back and knocked down a game-tying 3-pointer with one minute to play.  DSU controlled both overtime periods and ended up on top, 81-80.

Neither team held a lead larger than seven points throughout the game. DSU held its opponent to 39 percent shooting from the field while shooting close to 46 percentoffensively. The Red Storm also dominated the rebound battle as they were plus 15 in the category.

Senior forward Mark Ogden Jr. notched a double-double with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore guard Trevor Hill also put in 27 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished four assists.

With the win, DSU now moves to 3-3 in the Pacific West Conference. The Red Storm return home to take on Notre Dame de Namur University Thursday and then host Point Loma Nazarene University Monday Jan. 18.
