Yes, I am one of those people, those vegan people. When I first decided to change my eating style to plant-based, I wasn’t incredibly passionate about it and I did not understand the eating style. I am now obsessed with a plant-based lifestyle and here’s why you should be too.

Animal lives matter

Trust me, I understand this is an extremely cliche saying every vegan to ever exist says. However, I don’t want to be that person who contributes to animal harm and cruelty. I am not going to explain the process of the harm and cruelty animals go through because I know we are all fully aware of the process. Animals deserve to live a life without being feasted on. Being vegan is the best way to stand up against animal exploitation.

Americans alone eat over 50 billion pounds of animal meat each year. This is contributing to the decline of wildlife habitats and climate stability. Partaking in a plant-based diet shows an individual’s selfless love for animals. Take a look at this animal clock to see how often and how many animals are killed per year. This is incredibly inhumane and is embarrassing.

It is scientifically proven there is no nutritional need for humans to consume animal products. A plant-based diet, if done right, will fulfill a human’s dietary needs. Eating plant based is healthier for humans and animals.

The argument that mankind has been eating meat forever is not valid anymore. When we know better, we need to do better.

Health benefits

The health benefits alone are a reason for trying a plant-based diet. Whether you are wanting to lose weight, extend your lifespan, get more necessary nutrients or boost and improve your body’s everyday functions the benefits are endless.

Yes, gym rats, you can still get the amount of protein you need. Just because you are not on a carnivore diet doesn’t mean you aren’t getting protein. Beans, tofu, lentils, edamame, nuts, seeds, vegan protein powder, and vegan substitutes of meat.

Sustainable cost

The stereotype of a plant-based diet is very incorrect. I have saved an incredible amount of money while grocery shopping on a plant-based diet. Animal products are on the high end of prices on your grocery receipt. Who would’ve thought going plant-based would even save you money?

According to Food & Living Vegan: “Veganism is often viewed as a privileged and expensive lifestyle. However, new research suggests that vegans spend on average 40% less on food than omnivores.”

Stop bashing on those who decide to eat a plant-based diet and try it out for yourself. You will notice major differences in your life, you will become passionate about saving the lives of animals, and will never go back to eating animal products again.
