When you think of Utah, you probably think of constant road construction and horrible air quality, but Utah is so much more than that.

Utah has national parks, amazing ski resorts, Utah hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, and multiple films have been filmed here.

Let’s start off with the fact that Utah has five beautiful national parks. People from everywhere come and visit Utah’s national parks. In 2020, 1,238,083 people visited Arches National Park, which proves that Utah has something worth seeing. It could be anything from the amazing red rock or the historical landmarks that draw people too Utah.

Good luck trying to get into these beautiful parks in the summer. People flock to parks and camp out. With stunning and otherworldly landscapes that truly pop at night, how can you blame them? Utah’s natural beauty is especially apparent when the sun is setting and it makes for perfect photo.

If you enjoy the national parks you must also check out Utah ski resorts. Utah has 15 ski resorts to fit your winter needs. Brian Head Ski Resort is basically an hour drive away from St. George. Utah isn’t known for having ‘the greatest snow on earth‘ for no reason. The snow is so exceptional it regularly attracts athletes and tourists from across the world. This includes the The U.S Ski and Snowboard team, which is based out of Park City.

Utah hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, a mere five months after the 2001 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers. Utah made sure to cement the healing process of those attacks by aptly choosing “Light the Fire Within” as its opening song in the opening ceremony. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, the United States brought home a record 34 medals.

Utah being able to bag the Winter Olympics, especially a record breaking one, definitely sets us apart from other states, which is cool piece of modern history that other cities can’t brag about.

Utah is also a hot spot for the television and film industries. With 415 films shot here it’s no wonder why Utah is a hot spot for celebrities, film junkies and artists alike. Utah has been the backdrop for cool films and television other than the “High School Musical” series of movies and tv show adaptation. “Yellowstone” is filmed in Heber City and Park City, the Sundance Film Festival favorite “Hereditary” was filmed in Utah and the classic ’90s film “The Sandlot” was filmed in this great state as well. With the natural beauty that Utah has to offer, it’s no wonder why these films were filmed here instead of Hollywood backlots.
